Roland: You clearly have a huge passion for your subject and for inspiring that same passion in your learners. You have a good relationship with your students and whist you are intolerant of poor behavior, you are quick to reward good work and effort. You took care to check understanding of prior learning and to define key words for the lessons which is important for EAL students and it was good to see that students had the vocabulary available to them on their desks. The close activity used as a starter in one lesson was very EAL friendly and worked well to get students focused. You scaffolded each step of the lessons well which is essential for EAL learners. You also worked very well with one of your less confident EAL students and gave her extra language support in a quiet way that did not make her stand out to the other students.
