I'm an A-Level student with 10 x A* at GCSE and 3 x A* predicted at A-Level.

I tutor both English Language and Literature and focus on developing essay writing, understanding of texts and unseen poetry preparation. I have a particular focus on Shakespeare: Macbeth, Hamlet, Othello, Romeo & Juliet and King Lear. 

Having achieved top of the year and Grade 9s in both Language and Literature, I have an in-depth understanding of essay technique and hold a bank of essay plans for certain GCSE texts.

• Tuition in English Language & Literature up to GCSE level. 
• I work through the text with students chronologically and supply essay plans along the way. We focus on annotating the text, analysing language and linking to context, then apply this to essay plans which ultimately will be the essence of revision.
• I help students write school-set essays, providing a clear structure. Essay plans are key to revision and will prove incredibly useful when preparing for exams/assessments.
• If the student is taking English to A-Level, I introduce some A-Level ideas such as critical interpretations, and we apply this to the texts. Even if the student is not continuing English, this is something that will impress the examiner and is not too difficult to understand.
