Hello! I'm Agatha and I tutor English Language and Literature, English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), English as a Foreign Language, and Japanese.

I have extensive experience teaching English as a Foreign Language, having taught the English language in Japan for 3 years at two schools in the Kanto region to students of all ages (children and adults alike), all with a different purpose (from passing exams to helping with business English).

Additionally, I currently tutor pupils at KS1, KS2 and KS3 level whose second language is English, devising engaging and fun lessons to help them with their school work. I also tutor English Language and Literature to students at KS3 level.

Furthermore, when I was in university, I taught Japanese language classes to Year 8 and Year 9 pupils, as well as to our university prospective students.

I am passionate about teaching and working with students to help them reach their learning goals. I have always enjoyed learning new languages, and being a learner myself, I know how to guide and support others in a way that is understandable and easier to grasp. Moreover, I believe that each individual has their own learning pace, so I structure my lessons based on the individual student's needs and aims. I am friendly and encouraging and my priority is to make sure that my students feel supported and understood. All my students and their parents/guardians feel comfortable to approach me with any questions or issues they may have, and we work together to find the most suitable solution.

• English tuition for KS1, KS2 and KS3 - help with homework, exam preparation, understanding terms and providing essential tools to utilise them
• ESOL/English as a Foreign Language to students of all ages - grammar, vocabulary, accuracy, fluency, listening, speaking, reading and writing practice and guidance, assessments
• Japanese tuition (beginner to intermediate) up to university level started from ab-initio - help with school work, Kanji, grammar, vocabulary, knowledge and use of language
• Japanese Language Proficency Test (JLPT) preparation up to N2 level
