I am a qualified Maths teacher/tutor with 5 years of classroom experience.  I hold a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics.

I teach different levels ranging from KS1 (Early Primary) to KS4 (GCSE). I offer both online and in-person tutoring.

About Me

I am a qualified Maths teacher/tutor with 5 years of classroom experience.  I hold a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics. I also have 3 years of experience working as a youth worker and as a teaching assistant. 

All of this means that I am experienced with working and getting the best out of all types of children, including those with a Special Educational Need. My philosophy is that everyone can learn maths. Different students may have different starting points and work at different paces, but the idea that a particular person will always be bad at maths no matter what is a myth. 

My approach is about steady and consistent progress. I will assess the student first, then work upwards, filling in any gaps before moving on. This means fluency first, before moving onto the reasoning and problem-solving questions that are now common in exam papers.
