My name is Angela and I am a recent graduate from a natural/ physical science discipline. I tutor in Chemistry and Mathematics disciplines up to A-Level, having majorly taught concepts at GCSE level, professionally over the last four years.
I am very enthusiastic about education and inspiring young people to continuously acquire knowledge and progress into higher education. I have over 850 hours of tutoring experience, as well as a BSc Chemistry (Honours) degree from Queen Mary, University of London under my belt.
My teaching methodology involves decomposing the theory of the subject at hand - in accordance to the examining syllabus, in a form that any individual can understand. I am mostly familiar with AQA and Edexcel examination boards however, I do not limit myself to these. Furthermore, a variation of examination-style practice problems are then explored by level.
I work on building a mentorship with the student through which naturally, I would apply a teaching strategy that would compliment the student's individual learning style or demands. I identify knowledge gaps early on and create formal or informal progression targets to ensure that there is a thorough engagement with the examining syllabus in the first place. I follow student progression by assessing performance on in-lesson practice questions, and in homework that is set after the end of each lesson. It should be expected that I provide feedback on homework by the start of the concordant lesson.
