About Me

I am an Assistant Psychologist working for a Harley Street Educational Psychology Practice. I work as an AP in a primary school in central London, providing intervention support and strategies for students with high levels of dyslexia, additional needs and social emotional mental health needs. Online tutoring for Early Years and Key Stage 1 will focus heavily on developing phonics to teach the skills of decoding (sounding out) and encoding (spelling.) These skills are typically very weak in pupils with Dyslexia, which is why most specialist approaches to teach pupils with literacy difficulties involve very structured, step-by-step phonics programmes. My approach is to ensure I am supporting students with dyslexia to make reading and writing an enjoyable experience, so they are motivated to overcome their barriers with words. As pupils develop in age and confidence, I will be encouraging children to get meaning from what they are reading and make their writing something others can understand.

I also have strong experience working with SEN students including ADHD, autism, anxiety and dyspraxia. With these students I will be engaging in multi-sensory online sessions to boost their education, skills, confidence, self-esteem and resilience and personal development.

With the current lockdown situation, I will be providing tutoring lessons online - I have strong experience in providing engaging, bespoke online lessons using Google Hangouts, Zoom, Skype and other platforms to suit the individual. These platforms have a range of features to make the sessions fun and engaging.
