I was born in (and now live in) the UK.

After leaving school I studied for a degree in Business Studies, with computing being the main topic. Then I went on to study for an MSc in Computation.

My working life started in computing when I trained as a programmer. After being employed in a number of organisations I launched my own IT company, which I ran for 14 years, and then sold because I wanted to change careers and travel.

After quitting IT 15 years ago, I studied for the Trinity certTESOL.  Since then I have taught EFL at every level of English in several countries around the world, such as Oman, Germany, and China. Also, my teaching has encompassed a wide age range, from 6 to 60 years of age, but I have primarily taught adults. Furthermore, I have worked for organizations such as the British Council, as well as in both corporate and government premises.

My teaching has mainly included IELTS preparation and EAP, plus occasional ESP courses and other Cambridge exams such as FCE. Also, my business background makes me particularly suited to teaching Business English.

You will find that I am not only a highly experienced teacher but also a patient listener; and I firmly believe in good communication to ensure that classes are tailored to your needs.

I always teach using British English.

I work with levels from A2 up to C2.

I provide tuition for the following subjects: 

• IELTS
• EAP
• General English
• Business English (level B1 and higher)
• English for Job Interviews (level B2 and higher)
• English for specific topics such as presentations or business-related email writing (level B1 and higher)
• Other Cambridge exams such as FCE

All subjects can be tailored to your needs.

Also, in 2021 (when the pandemic recedes) I hope to be able to resume providing tailored classes for closed groups at organisations' premises.
