I am a dynamic, creative, ambitious and compassionate young teacher, who is passionately committed to providing the children I teach with outstanding learning opportunities to reach their fullest potential. Over the past seven years, I have gained the necessary skills and attributes needed to meet the highest teaching standards. I completed a BA Honours degree in Primary Education, in which I was graded outstanding in all areas of teaching. My particular interests are primary maths, Literacy, Phonics and Science. Over the past few years I have attended numerous teacher CPD tranings session that have equipped me with the latest up to date skills that are needed to provide children with high quality teaching, and first class learning opportunities.
I have spent the last two years teaching Year 2 children and preparing them for the national SATS tests. Together, my class and I have mastered the majority of Year 2 objectives. I have helped them produce high level writing, whilst developing the necessary comprehension skills. I have also assisted in teaching specific grammar and punctuation objectives. I have taught the majority of Year 2 mathematics objectives, and with the correct questioning techniques and practical experience I have brought many children to higher level of independent thinking and achievement.
I am also phonics co-ordinator of my current primary school. I have gained an excellent insight into the delivery of phonics, and the Read Write Inc. programme. I have attended a number of teacher training days which has helped deepen my knowledge and understanding of how phonics should be taught to young children. Through hard work, dedication and the ability to work as part of a team my previous Year 1 classes have reached outstanding expectations, against the national average for schools in England. I know how to each phonics effectively, in a way that is fun, engaging and memorable for the children.
I have also worked with many year groups in KS2. I particularly enjoyed teaching year 3, 4 and 6. This experience enabled me to identify gaps in learning, and to bridge these through targeted one to one intervention. This particularly helped children in Year 6, who were preparing for their end of year SATS. My main objective was to equip the children I taught with the confidence, skills and knowledge required to take these exams. In order to do this, I taught using a high level of enthusiasm, alongside a lot of praise and positive reinforcements.
I would welcome the opportunity to further your child's development, and can assure you of my complete commitment to developing their Literacy, reading, mathematics and science skills. I promise to provide a happy, safe and friendly environment that they look forward to learning in, one that helps them reach their fullest potential, and improves their overall well-being.
