I am available over the School Summer holidays, 2022, for catch-up Primary Curriculum and ESOL teaching. Having been a Qualified Primary Teacher for over 23 years, I have vast experience preparing resources and delivering lessons to different ages, cohorts, and needs. Also working as a primary and adult level Art and English tutor, I have experience working 1:1 and in small groups, to either coach for exams or build confidence in a particular academic area, including University entrance exams/interviews. I have also had some recent experience teaching 11+ creative writing and spelling/vocabulary exam preparation. Having taught ESL/phonics/reading/writing online to Chinese children and tutored Math, Science and English through another virtual classroom, I also have over 2 years of experience teaching online using remote classroom platforms.
About Me

Having worked with special needs including Autism, Physical special needs such as spina bifida, multiple sclerosis, AHD, ADHD, and emotional and behavioural needs, I have used a variety of educational approaches, adapted to individuals for personalised learning. At times, I create and sell my own artwork and take commissions. Gardening organically, and growing fruit, flowers, and vegetables on my allotment, helps me to relax, be grounded, and contribute to the environment. I have also rehomed retired. rescued greyhounds/sighthounds and lurchers and enjoy walking them. I am a Christian and attend one of my local churches

Sep 2021Claire is supporting our daughter's (6-year-old) English lessons since the first lockdown. We are not native English speakers, and we wanted to ensure that our daughter develops her vocabulary and speaks English confidently. Our daughter enjoyed classes and showed significant progress in expressing herself, using new vocabulary and reading sentences. After the lockdown, we asked Claire to have lessons during half terms and summer holidays when schools reopened. This helped our daughter to recap the previous term and prepare for the next term. We will continue requesting Claire's support in the following half terms. Claire also shares detailed feedback after each lesson and attach her presentations. This helps us to understand our daughter's progress and the areas she needs to improve. Her teaching style is very engaging and enjoyable that our daughter loves speaking with Claire and joins lessons enthusiastically. We highly recommend Claire and will definitely request her support when we are all available in half terms. -
