Hello!

I am an experienced teacher, having taught for over 18 years in both Primary and Independent Prep Schools and I specialise in Maths, Biology and Physics.  Maths and the Sciences can often be areas where pupils lack confidence in their own ability. I can help to support, reassure and boost confidence so that learning takes place more easily and my pupils feel like they can do it!  Whether you are working towards a specific goal (SATs, 11+ or CE), wishing to fill in knowledge gaps, or needing support with homework, together we can find a learning style to suit you.

About Me

I have over 18 years of teaching experience in both Primary and Independent Prep Schools and I now specialise in teaching Maths, Biology and Physics to children from Years 2 - 8. I have worked with pupils demonstrating a wide range of abilities and can adapt my approach to support or extend learning, as required.

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy sailing and taking my dog on nice, long walks!  

Services

I offer 1:1 sessions either online or in person (currently with COVID restrictions, all lessons are taking place online). When face-to-face lessons are back up and running, I am able to travel to my pupils and teach them in familiar surroundings, which often makes for more relaxed and speedy learning!

Lessons are generally 1-hour long and are made up of a mixture of assessment to identify knowledge gaps and misconceptions, focused learning, revision games and homework support where necessary. 

After each completed lesson, feedback is given to parents/guardians (currently in the form of an email) which highlights learning successes, areas for development, any homework or independent tasks for the week ahead as well as an outline for the next session.
