I am a Dyslexia Specialist and fully qualified teacher with over 20 years experience. I specialise in SATs, 11 Plus, Common Entrance, GCSE, AS and A level curriculum and exam tuition of English Language and Literature, Maths and Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. I use a multi-sensory (visual, auditory and kinesthetic) approach, which includes applying specific reading and spelling programmes when appropriate. Lessons are designed to fill any learning gaps and enable students to reach their full potential whilst also encouraging independent learning. I have recently written an educational book which provides a whole year's worth of learning aimed at those wishing to pass KS2 SATS, 11 Plus and Common Entrance exams at the hghest level. This book is unique as it incorporates over 260 coloured pages, packed with not only curriculum based lessons and worksheets, but numerous puzzles, fun activities and a murder mystery to solve. I have devised a technique called Double Learning which allows other subjects, such as Science, History and Geography to underpin the English and maths. Children are literally learning two things at once throughout the book. In addition, the book contains a separate Parent / Teacher Guide and Answer Booklet, so there will be no opportunity for children to look at the answers (which are usually placed at the back of a book). About Me

My last 4 lesson observations were graded as outstanding Grade 1 by Ofsted. I teach reading, writing, spelling and speaking/listening skills to those with learning difficulties such as dyslexia and to those whose English is a second language. I prepare students for exams to ensure a higher grade. I also work as Dyslexia Coordinator in a college providing one to one support to those with specific learning difficulties such as Dyslexia, Aspergers & ADHD. I can provide excellent references from colleges, previous students and their parents. I have also worked at the following institutes: Baylis Secondary School, Slough, Lady Bankes Junior School, Ruislip, Harrow College, Uxbridge College, Barnet College, Hillingdon Adult Education Centre, Kenton Family Learning Centre, Stanmore College, Weald College, West Herts College and for Harrow Borough Council as a Tutor Inspector for Ofsted grading.

Services

Private Tuition for English and Maths at all levels, specialising in 11 Plus (including Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning) and GCSE. Lessons have been conducted very successfully online since March due to Covid. Students respond very well as they enjoy the face to face interaction and opportunity to use technology. We speak via Skype, FaceTime, Whatsapp and Zoom using a second device such as iPad or laptop. Homework is sent via email.
