I'm Isobel and I'm an enthusiastic, friendly languages teacher! I have been studying Japanese for over eight years. I studied at the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and gained an N3 in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT July 2017). In 2019 I spent 10 months in Kyoto studying at the Institute of liberal arts at Doshisha University and have recently returned. I have a deep interest and respect for the history and culture of Japan. My fluency and understanding has been further enhanced by time spent studying, working and living in the country.

I have a TEFL qualification and am an experienced proof reader of English assignments for University students who have English as a second language. I have also volunteered with a yorkshire-based group to teach newly arrived refugees to the UK english. 

I am based in South Leicestershire and can provide daytime as well as evening lessons online and hopefully in person once it is safe to do so. I hope to see you soon!

Tutor and lover of language learning. Also working for 'Farplace Animal rescue' charity and have a passion for film and music. spent two of the last 5 years in Japan and can't wait to travel and explore again when the world returns to 'normal'. I hope to meet and teach you soon! 

Services

I offer EFL and japanese language sessions at £20 per hour. I enjoy working with learners of all ages. I have many teaching materials and books that can be shared online to enable practice between lessons. All materials will be adapted to your requirements. I am happy to undertake conversational lessons for beginners or those planning trips abroad, through to more intense exam preparation if needed. I have a range of engaging resources for younger pupils too. I look forward to having enjoyable and useful lessons with you!
