Hi, my name is Jade. I have 9 years of teaching experience. I am currently taking a break from teaching to raise my two young children but would like to continue working within education in that time. 

About Me

I have experience working across the Primary curriculum from Years 1 to 6. I have led both English and maths during my career. I led maths for the past 6 years and within that role supported both teachers and groups of children across my school. 

I have good experience both raising attainment of children working below the expected standard and also challenging those meeting or exceeding the expected standard. 

I believe in a creative approach to teaching, when tutoring I try to engage pupils using their own interests. I am a strong believer in the CPA approach when teaching maths, this means I use concrete resources and visual representations to help children understand  abstract concepts. I incorporate reasoning and problem solving into my maths sessions where possible.
