Hey there!

My name is Jahura, and I am a second year medical student, studying at The University of Manchester. I loved the sciences whilst I was at school, achieving 9s in biology and chemistry, and an 8 in physics. I took biology and chemistry forwards as A Levels, and achieved an A* in biology, and an A in chemistry. Throughout my time in school, I mentored students in the years below, and helped them understand their schoolwork, and I tried to make lessons as fun as possible! In that sense, therefore, I have experience in tutoring and feel confident in teaching all sciences up to GCSE level, and biology and chemistry to A Level standard.

Services

I offer a free taster lesson for all clients.

A typical lesson will be an hour long, starting off with a short starter to review content covered in the previous session, in order to retain and review as much knowledge of previously taught content as possible. Next, content will be taught in an interactive and engaging manner, through a variety of activities. I will ask questions and guide the student to the solution, rather than just have heaps of text on a powerpoint slide!  Following this, we will work through a few exam questions together, before the final activity of reviewing what we have learnt. For the sciences, I will provide a notes pack at the end of each session summarising the key points of the lesson, that the student is free to keep. 

I am highly flexible with timings during the weekdays, but otherwise have limited availability from Friday to Sunday.
