Hi! My name is James and I'm a History and Politics Teacher. I work in a central London school teaching History KS3-5 and A-level Politics, and am looking to offer online or in-person tutition to those who may need it. 

About Me

I studied History at the University of Oxford, achieving a 2:1 in my BA in 2017. I have worked in education for 4 years, starting as a teaching assistant before joining Teach First and becoming a fully qualified teacher in 2020. I have worked in a number of different schools with varied student bodies, teaching to a wide variety of needs and ability levels. I currently teach full-time, teaching History KS3-5, and A-Level Politics.

Lessons are as I teach in my classroom: plenty of direct and helpful guidance with opportunities for extended reading, scholarship, and writing, and for students to develop their independent thinking and share their opinions. Lessons generally last 1-2 hours dependant on topic.

    I completed the Teach First Programme 2019-21, receiving my PGDE (Teach First's equivalent of a PGCE) in 2021, following my QTS in 2020. I taught English with Teach First, and thereafter became a History teacher.
