My name is Jie Xi Yeo, I am 24 years old, and I am from Malaysia. As a committed practitioner who embraces challenge, I would love to play a fundamental role in shaping the future for our children so that each unique child will be able to advance to their fullest potential. I am a teaching assistant with 3 years of experience within nursery and reception in both mainstream and Montessori environments. Having supported students with EAL, I have developed my skills in using visual aids, stories, role-play and key word maps to help students with their English.
My approach to behaviour management centres around understanding the individual needs of students, praise, positive reinforcement and giving students leadership roles to develop their sense of responsibility. Besides, I also enjoy being creative through play and has experience in Maths and English intervention using these skills.
Currently, I am looking for part time supply across mainstream primaries within EYFS and KS1, and in independent nurseries. I love accepting new challenges or the opportunity to bring fresh experiences to the school and to share my experiences with others. I have a great passion for learning and learners, and I think that the best way to learn is by teaching.
I feel strongly that I have the necessary organizational and planning qualities to excel in the role. I also have the patience, the communication capabilities, the energy levels and the motivational techniques needed to help the children learn, thrive and develop during these very important years of their lives. I want to be an Early Years Teacher because it is a job I have been working towards for a number of years now. Teaching is a huge passion of mine, and I want a teaching role where I can make a big difference to the children I work with through my unique and supportive style of teaching. There comes a huge responsibility with the role of a preschool teacher and I am very much looking forward to the challenge the job presents if I am successful.
Thank you again for taking the time and I would be happy to discuss anything in further detail in the future.
