I have a PhD in Maths from the Univeristy of Kent and worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Chiba for two years. Before that I obtained a Masters in Maths (1st) from Durham University.
During my PhD I taught examples classes to first year students for 3 years. The material taught there was similar to A level. The students were often very nervous about asking questions or making mistakes. A large part of my job was helping them overcome this, as making mistakes is a huge part of the learning process. I was also involved in marking the students' homework, so I could see exactly where they needed help. Additionally I ran special sessions before exam season for small groups who needed extra help.
I offer tutoring in Maths and Physics for GCSE, A Level and University students.
