I am 20 years old and currently studying Accounting and Finance at Richmond University.
I have always had a great passion for sharing knowledge and have found the best way to do this is to understand who you are teaching. I have always had a lesson structure easily edited to how the individual pupil has responded to the previous challenge.
I have been giving private lessons since I was 15; teaching young students to prepare for their 11+ exams. Soon after I founded and ran my own GCSE maths clinic in which I taught 5-10 students every lunch break at St James Senior Girls' School, helping them all pass.
I was born in the UK from American parents and my life has been enriched by the diversity of the locations where my parents were brought up. I was lucky enough to experience the hustle and bustle of New York and the more relaxed pace of life of my grandparents’ farm in Indiana.
I consider myself a Twickenham girl. My education started at the Vineyard Primary school in Richmond; however, my secondary education was split between Ibstock Place School in Roehampton and St James’ Girl School in Kensington.
My passion has always been maths and science where I always achieved the highest grades reflected also on my GCSE’s results.
Amongst the extracurricular activities offered at Ibstock, modern and street dance were my favourites, regularly participating in the end of term productions at the school theatre.
In 2016, with a small group from St James’ Girls School, I participated in the Duke of Edinburgh challenge which I enjoyed immensely.
Upon reaching the last hurdle of my A levels I became increasingly stressed and nervous and I decided to take a break and concentrate on myself. During this time I focused on another passion of mine which is tutoring maths to children of all ages.
I can teach maths to children all ages up to 16; in groups or one-on-one.
I am happy to teach in my apartment, in the students' homes or in an agreed upon public space.
I have always been able to design my own lesson plans and edit future material depending on what the student is comfortable with, as well as finding my own material online and formulating quizzes and homework assignments.
