I am a Head of Maths at a Birmingham secondary school and have tutored 2000+ working with those students wishing to achieve their best possible grades.
Maths is a passion for me but I understand that for some students it can be cumbersome and anxiety-inducing. I will endeavor to make my students feel comfortable through well-resourced lessons and a personable attitude. Together we will reach whatever goals you may have.
Whether you want some extra assistance around exam or mock exam time or a long term guide as you make your way through GCSEs. I will be flexible and willing to work with you and around your schedule.
Some comments from previous students:
"Joshua has been teaching our son at GCSE level for a couple of weeks now and the boost this has given to my sons confidence is there to see. Joshua has found a way to connect with our son that his school teachers have not and he seems to explain parts of the syllabus that were difficult in ways that our son now has a grip of those areas." - Duncan
"Would recommend Joshua to anyone wanting extra support. Made the lesson fun and learnt so much in just the first lesson. Have rebooked and can’t wait for the next lesson." - Donna
"Really enjoying our maths tuition with Joshua. He's doing a fab job at getting my son to feel more confident with maths - which is key. At the end of a session, he has a big grin on his face from the sense of achievement. Would highly recommend!" - Joanne
"I can highly recommend Joshua. He is a very effective, professional tutor. The best evidence for it is the progress my daughter has made only after 2 hours of tutoring!" - Rafal
Looking forward to hearing from you,
I have a physics degree from the University of Birmingham and graduated in 2017, I have been teaching in the classroom ever since. I help students understand the mysteries of maths every day and I understand those common misconceptions and where students struggle the most.
I grew up travelling the world and spent time living in Australia and Spain, now I live in 'sunny' Birmingham and I'm enjoying everything England has to offer tool. I also enjoy cycling and take trips around Europe each year.
My students tell me that my jokes aren't that funny but they still laugh so you'll have to be the judge, I look forward to meeting you!
I have tutored for 2000+ hours and have an intimate knowledge of the GCSE maths curriculum and exam.
I offer GCSE classes for £30ph, we can either work on exam preparation or go through the entire GCSE course together. I can create a bespoke and tailored plan for each individual tutee.
I also offer A-level tuition at £40ph for pure content and £50ph for Mechanics. My degree is in Physics and I am able to offer an insight into the Mechanics module that other maths tutors and teachers cannot.
Group sessions are welcome and for every additional person, the price per person is reduced by £5ph to a minimum of £10per hour per person.
I also offer bulk pricing at 10hrs for £270 for GCSE and 10hrs for £360.
