Hi, I'm Karen and with 24 years experience working as a trauma nurse, nurse specialist, nurse educator and tutor I am excited to support anyone wanting to learn about biology, trauma on the body and mind and health and wellbeing from GCSE level through to degree level. I am a qualified therapist and fuse my knowledge on biology, the human mind and trauma to create exciting learning programmes that remain focused on the students syllabus. 

My learning approach is flexible to keep the lessons being accessible for the student's most influential way of learning. 

About Me

I began my nurse training at the age of 19 and qualified when I was 21 years old. I was always attracted to trauma nursing but loved actually fusing both science and biology together so I worked in theatre recovery, ICU and resus.  Within 4 years I was a nursing sister working in education and practice development where I began tutoring and lecturing in house, at the local colleges and the nursing and medical university. 

After 15 years I left nursing to persue studying trauma on the body and mind but from a different perspective, I went through a few more years of researching and training and began working as a private therapist for clients who live with trauma but I work on the body. 

Between my partner and I we have 6 gorgeous children and we live with an open mind, open hearts and an open house.

As for hobbies and interests; I am a runner and have run 13 ultra marathons, multiple marathons and just enjoy hills, a view and getting into space.
