Hi, I'm Katy,

I have worked in many schools over the last 25 years as a class teacher, literacy consultant, teacher trainer and currently as an Assistant Head.

I am a virtual tutor for 5 to 11-year-olds who need subject-specific support. I work with children of all abilities, I am a specialist for extending pupils who are gifted as well as struggling readers (including ADHD and dyslexia)

I'm Katy,

A  kids lit book fanatic who loves the great outdoors. 

I have 3 kids, 2 cats and 1 dog.

I love early mornings, a strong coffee, my book club and being a taxi to my 3 teenagers!!!! It is where the best conversations happen...

I have been teaching for over 25 years and love how the power of learning transforms kids' lives. I'm really looking forward to helping your child to learn so they can fulfil their potential. 

Services

Each session is online using Zoom for 30 minutes to an hour. It's fun, focused, interactive and relevant to your child's needs. 
After an initial assessment, each lesson will focus on developing key skills and strong foundations.  

Lessons help children who need support with how to learn or with homework. They're also perfect for students preparing for the phonics test, entrance exams or SATs.

I provide follow up support for parents and tasks to complement the learning for families if needed. 

I have worked in schools for 25 years+. I'm currently an Assistant headteacher, a Literacy Consultant for Primary Schools and a Reading Coach for Parents.
