Hello. I am an examiner for AQA GCSE English Literature for the current 2022 exam series and have examined for WJEC GCSE English Language in previous years too. 

About Me

For over seven years, I taught GCSE English Language, Functional Skills English, and I have been an examiner for GCSE English Language and GCSE English Literature. I am able to teach other subjects, including Maths and Childcare, and have been described as fully adaptable to whichever level students are at.

I'm currently a teacher in an SEN school where I teach Functional Skills English and was an English Lecturer in Further Education for over seven years. I am passionate about teaching and enjoy meeting new students and getting to know them, and what skills they would like to work on. I have an in depth knowledge of what GCSE English exams require of students and enjoy imparting this knowledge to students so that they can achieve their potential.

I work extremely hard to ensure students achieve their very best in a friendly and approachable way. I plan creative and interesting activities and focus on skills that learners want to improve. I think of practical ways that students can learn English skills. I feel that practising the required skills is the best way of demonstrating a good standard of English and students complete this practice in various and fun ways. I ensure that students demonstrate their knowledge to me, then I build on what they know.

Services

I am interested in taking on students who would like to learn in the Summer Holidays in order to prepare for the new school year and feel confident in approaching their subjects due to having experience learning the foundations over the summer. I want to close the gaps and catch students up who have missed so much due to Covid.
