I am a qualified teacher that has experience teaching Modern Foreign Language in Secondary School setting.

I have experienced teaching Spanish (Key stage3-Key stage5) and French (Key stage3 - key stage4). I have also experience in delivering 1 to 1 tuitions to adult learners as well as to GCSE pupils over the last 3 years.

I strongly believe that the study of foreign languages develops insights into the nature of the language and culture and offers the individual the opportunity to become a global citizen. I believe teaching pupils to understand different cultures advocates an appreciation and tolerance towards other cultures.

I strongly believe that education is empowering and I strive to ensure that my students develop a love for learning and gain the skills necessary to become independent, life-long learners and responsible citizens. This means that I endeavour to plan and deliver lessons that are interactive and provide learners the opportunity to reflect upon their own progress and take ownership of their development.

I create lessons that are tailored to the needs of my pupils. That way pupils can progress more rapidly and can work on the skills that they need to improve.

Services

My sessions build on prior learning which is tested through "mini tests" (progress checks). That enables me to see how much progress has pupil made as well as to identify common misconceptions. That way I can tailor the lesson to pupils needs (pupil works on the area that they find particularly tricky).

All sessions have clear learning objectives that would lead pupil towards their target. The new information for the topic (vocabulary) is set as a homework and that way in the lesson there is more time assigned for pupil to develop new skills. Flipped learning helps pupil to become more independent learner and take ownership of their progress.

Pupils practise 4 main skills that are tested at MFL GCSE/A level exams. Depending on pupils skills, the receptive skills (reading and listening) are tested first in the way that they help pupil to develop productive skills (speaking and writing).
