I am a London-born, professional linguist and CELTA-qualified freelance tutor. Having lived, studied and taught in Spain and France, I am fluent in both languages and conversant with the countries' cultures and traditions. I have been working as a language tutor since 2008. I worked as a T.E.F.L. Teacher in Paris during the 1980s.

Based in London, I teach GCSE French and Spanish and English as Foreign or Second language. While the KS4 work focusses on exam preparation, the ESL tuition ranges from complete beginners to very fluent  individuals wishing to fine-tune their language skills or supporting degree students with academic English. I can provide tuition support using Zoom or Skype.

Services

My tuition, including reading and listening comprehension, written work, oral and grammar, adheres to coursework requirements for the main exam boards and is tailored to the individual students or their learning difficulties. I aim to complement and support the students using a combination of curriculum designated text books/material, on-line language learning resources as well as my own text books.

I feel comfortable teaching children, teenagers and adults of all abilities and possess an intuitive understanding of problems encountered by language students. I treat children and teenagers as equals, a winning formula that helps to engage them, establish a good tutor-student relationship and develop their confidence.
