I am a linguist with an MA in languages and literature from FU Berlin and a BA in Italian Language and Literature from UCSC Milan (with a thesis in dialectology, because why not). I have a genuine passion for precision in words, and believe that grammar and vocabulary are the basics of language learning (or you can just learn from a tourist guide how to say 'where is the toilet', which also works), combined with a wise use of the media. In my previous life I was very good at translating from and into Ancient Green and Latin, thanks to five years of intensive study in a European school. Sadly all speakers of those languages are dead, so I spend my time teaching them to cure my nostalgia. I love teaching Italian and German to children aged 5-13 due to their flexible minds; adults are a bit more challenging as they always seem to have already read somewhere what I am saying - but on the other hand they are happy to discuss German and Italian literature, which is all a plus.
As per introduction.
I teach Italian, German and Latin online & in person. The 'in-person' option is subject to certain limitation aka you would have to reach me at my mansion in Oxford.
