Hi!  I'm Martainn and I'm a professional musician specialising in Scottish traditional music, but my childhood education was also in classical music on cello (Grade 8) and piano.  I played in the National Children's Orchestra of Scotland and in string quartets, but my life as a musician now takes me all over the UK and further afield, playing for dancing and on stage at festivals, as well as session recordings for albums and radio broadcasting.

I tutor school-age kids and adults regularly, privately, and through Gaelic arts tuition organisation Fèisean nan Gàidheal.

I am a member of professional body the Incorporated Society of Musicians and a participant in Disclosure Scotland's PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) scheme
