As a qualified maths teacher with over five years of private tuition experience, I enjoy igniting the “Eureka!” moment with students, assisting them to overcome mathematical challenges and realise their own problem-solving potential.

Calm and compassionate, positive and patient, I work well with children of all ages and abilities, having experience of teaching KS3, GCSE, A-Levels and the IB.

With a wealth of resources and pedagogy strategies I am able to assess students’ strengths and areas for improvement, tailoring lesson plans to the needs and capability of the student. I can provide all materials required; equipment, workbooks, online logins, past papers and other printed content, or work within the schools provided framework.

I take the safety of my students and those around me very seriously, so if opting for in person lessons, I will work with you to keep lessons Covid secure, with PPE such as disposable masks, face shields and sanitiser.

Experience & Qualifications

After graduating in 2015 with a first-class Hons in Mathematics, I have worked as a mathematics tutor both in secondary schools and privately. In particular, working with students who required additional teaching support in their education after

In 2018 I graduated with a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) in secondary education and subsequently have worked in two academy’s in the boroughs of Tower Hamlets and Epping Forest as a class teacher. My course covered the transition into the new GCSE and A Level specification for mathematics and statistics.

Services

I offer both online and in-person tuition, within a reasonable commutable distance.

I take the safety of my students and those around me very seriously, so if opting for in person lessons, I will work with you to keep lessons Covid secure, with PPE such as disposable masks, face shields and sanitiser.

I also offer past paper workshops, perfect for students who are nearing their exams and would benefit from an exam focused approach.

I use the same approach that all maths teachers use as their classes near exams (but with personalised attention of a one-to-one tutor):

  1. I provide the student with a past paper, to be completed in their own time, under exam conditions.
  2. Student returns their paper (either digitally or physically) which I then mark by the examiner’s report, providing analysis, identifying misconceptions,
  3. I return the paper and discuss it thoroughly with the student. This allows them to identify their strengths and areas for improvement, to see where and how marks are dropped,
  4. For questions, the student did not obtain full marks, I provide question packs of similar style questions, to consolidate learning and to practise their newfound understanding.

Students and parents alike have praised this strategy, and it requires fewer contact hours to be arranged.
