Hiya, Im Miranda!
I like to think i am an enthusiastic communicator, recognised as being a caring, supportive tutor with a passion for Psychology and a desire to see students succeed!!
My experiences with dyslexia, has handed me the opportunity to discover hundreds of ways to learn, so my approach is personaliesed and very focused on finding the way that works for you. I am a very supportive and relatively informal tutor, as I strongly belive learning can be impossible under stress or pressure!
I am happy to teach to exam/coursework, general academic progression (to supplement school/college) or for personal improvement and interest. Sessions can be done as a one off for a specific aim, or as a series of sessions for longer term learning.
The session content/plan will be tailored entirely for your aims, needs, level and learning style(s). This will be done by establishing a tuition plan with you, where I would like to learn of your schooling-background, learning aims and current study practices.
I currently work as an assistant psychologist in the NHS. I am a psychology graduate, and have completed numerous other accredited corses relating to mental health and positive psychology, including half a MSc in mental health nursing.
My main focus is Psychology, but i can also tutor MH nuring and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy skills.
I am experienced in tachinhg a vairiety of levles - From GCSE – University level. I have also supported a student completing a Mental Health Nursing degree, and another who was keen to learn some CBT techniques.
Most recently I have been tutoring sixth form students in A-level psychology. I am proud to say that I have consistently managed to support students to jump up at least 2 academic grades. But more importantly I have aided their confidence, encouraging them to believe in their knowledge, and ultimetly allowing them to enjoy learning!
Any sessions you book with me will be tailored for you, your current level and your learning/progression needs. Whether you want to learn for fun, catch up on missed learning or prep for an exam, I can help you.
I have dyslexia and ADHD, so I completely understand the pressure and anxiety involved in any degree. Struggling with dyslexia, has handed me the opportunity to discover hundreds of ways to learn, so my approach is very focused on finding the way that works for you.
