I'm an experienced primary school teacher.  I have taught for over 20 years and done face to face and online tuition for over a decade.  I love teaching children. I can offer online tuition for KS1 and KS2 for Reading, Phonics, SPaG, Spelling, Writing, Maths, Arithmetic and Science. I offer this to children at all academic levels. Having worked with SEN and Gifted children, I see potential in all children.  Students usually achieve great milestones from their initial starting point, be that working towards, Achieving or Exceeding with greater depth in a subject.  My sessions include Assessment and Teaching of the Topic, A Recap, Homework, Marking, Feedback and Tips.  I seek out the gaps in their learning and address what they have misunderstood in class.  I then teach, allow time for the child to practise and then show me if they understand.  Of course I will come back to the Topic later on to see if they have retained the new knowledge. Parents of my students say their child has grown in confidence and is motivated to learn.  Schools say how much the child has improved. My main goal is to see if the child understands and it's an overwhelmingly positive response from my students. They find the no pressure approach seems to give them the confidence to have a go. We sort out misconceptions and soon the child is ready for challenging tasks.  It's lovely to see a child grow in competence and confidence.

I offer online tuition on a weekly basis as I find regular tuition helps the child recap and remember more.  Tuition can be either a weekday after 5pm or the weekend at an agreed time.  I book in tuition for each child in 4 week slots which is to be paid for prior to the start.  This allows for consistency for the child and shows commitment from all those involved.  I provide feedback to the parent, either in the last few minutes of the session or via text if this is preferable.

Tuition is done via Zoom preferably, but I can accommodate Skype if required.

I have an  up to date DBS which is on the online extension.

I charge £30 per hour for KS1 and £35 for KS2.

Some children and parents want me to continue tuition in the fist year of Secondary school and so for KS3 I charge £40
