I'm a German native speaker and French language enthusiast and have moved to the UK over 15 years ago. Currently I'm studying Italian with a teacher and I'm also dabbling with Swedish and Russian which is a lot of fun, but also a great reminder of the challenges language learners can face when trying their hands at a new language. I have a very flexible approach towards language learning and teaching and will adapt my approach to the needs of each individual tutee. Depending on your previous knowledge, level of confidence, needs and wishes I am aiming to plan each session or session sequence to achieve personal aims and targets which I will agree with you before starting tuition. I use a range of materials involving different learning styles, again taking preferences into account. You will realise that learning a language can be very rewarding. And there will of course always time for a bit of fun whilst learning too!

About Me

I was born and raised in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, an industrial City in Southwest Germany until I moved to the UK after graduating from university in 2006. I had only planned to stay for eight months initially until the end of my employment as Foreign Language Assistant (FLA) in two schools in Doncaster but life sometimes offers you opportunities not before considered. I have always enjoyed learning languages and also treasured my time as an FLA so when I learned that native speakers were required to teach in English secondary schools I applied for a place on the Graduate Teacher Programme and obtained Qualified Teacher Status in 2008. 

Not only did I start my career at that time but also a small family which is why I decided to take some time off school teaching in 2013. I picked up some work at a local language school which mainly teaches small adult groups and began giving private on-to-one lessons. Over the years it turned out to be a viable and very enjoyable career which is why I am still doing it with pleasure today.
