I am a senior scientist with a PhD in molecular biology working in academia since 2003. I have been actively involved in teaching as a supervisor, mentor and a lecturer at university level and as a private tutor in primary and secondary education for over 10 years.
I am passionate about making science Interesting and relevant for pupils and getting them enthusiastic about learning science.
I am deligent, trustworthy and professional. I build strong relationships with my pupils so that I can tailor their lessons to their interests to keep them engaged and have fun whilst learning science.
I offer one to one and online tutoring for primary, secondary school and A level students in Combined Sciences as well as Biology. I am enthusiastic about making science interesting for students. Instead of just facts and figures, I like to make science more tangible and real making it interesting to learn and this allows students to understand concepts clearly and remember them. I have been commended for this by many children and parents. I have a supportive, flexible approach to explaining any topics, to boost your confidence, understanding and enthusiasm of the science subjects. I help to set revision notes, practice tests and practical lessons to achieve study goals and attain better understanding and high grades. I am also delivering lessons online via Zoom, MS Teams and Google Meet.

I completed my PhD (2003) in molecular Biology at The University of Western Australia. I obtained a distinction for my PhD thesis entitled, “Characterisation of microsatellites within untranslated regions of cancer related genes and the consequences of their instability in MSI colorectal cancers”. I have specialised in Cancer genetics. I have since written many scientific articles and first author publications in scientific journals. I have had the opportunity to work in many countries and with multiple world leading research groups involved in cancer genetics.
I did my bachelors degree in biotechnology where i had the opportunity to learn all aspects of the application of biological technology from plant, animal to industrial biotechnology. I have knowledge not only in molecular biology but also in microbiology and biochemistry. process engineering to business management.
