Hi! I'm Olivia!

I'm a recent Imperial College London MSc Immunology graduate, honored with the Richard Batchelor Prize for the best thesis. Before this, I completed a BSc in Biophysics, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology in the US, excelled in the International Baccalaureate with HL Chemistry, Biology, English, and History in 2018, and scored in the top 1% in the ACT, the American university entrance exam.

With six years of tutoring experience in maths and sciences, I've significantly improved my students' understanding of their subjects. I recieved structured education in tuition at my undergraduate university in America, Whitman College, where I was employed by the university to tutor undergraduate students. Currently, I tutor GCSE and A-level Biology, Chemistry and Maths.

About Me

Hi! I'm Olivia!

I recently graduated from Imperial College London with an MSc in Immunology, where I received the prestigious Richard Batchelor Prize for the best thesis. Prior to this, I earned a BSc in Biophysics, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology from Whitman College, a university in the United States. In 2018, I successfully completed the International Baccalaureate examinations, focusing on Higher Level (HL) Chemistry, Biology, English, and History. Additionally, I excelled in the ACT, the American undergraduate entrance exam, ranking in the top 1% of test takers.

My tutoring journey began in high school in the America, where I assisted students struggling with Maths and Chemistry. This experience continued into my undergraduate studies, where in 2019 I served as an Academic Advisor for incoming first-year students at my university for a year. In this role, I received expert training in teaching and tutoring techniques. Since then, I have been tutoring students at GCSE, A-level, and undergraduate levels.

My strength as a tutor lies in my commitment to ensuring students thoroughly understand the material. Unlike classroom teachers, who do remarkable work but often lack the time for in-depth instruction, I focus on tailoring the pace and depth of content to fully prepare students for their exams. With my advanced knowledge in maths and sciences, I'm able to provide accurate and detailed answers to students' questions, helping them connect concepts for a deeper understanding.

Adapting to various learning styles is crucial in my approach to tutoring. If a student struggles to grasp a concept, I employ diverse methods of explanation until they achieve comprehension. This adaptability not only enhances understanding but also accelerates learning in future sessions.

I also understand that students today are incredibly busy, and dedicating yourself to tutoring on top of school can be time consuming. Therefore, any homework I assign will be challenging for you, but not time consuming.

Why not book a session with me? If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I'm always eager to provide further clarification!
