About Me

I am a 27 year-old English Teacher living in Farnham, Surrey. I have recently qualified as a teacher in 2020, and am looking to share my enthusiasm and knowledge of the English literary heritage and language with a new group of students as the schools return. My teaching style has been described by my course mentors as innovative, creative and flexible in its approach. In the classroom, I am confident, friendly, and able to provide the right level of challenge across all levels of ability. In my spare time I write short stories, build models and spend Sunday mornings birdwatching and going on long walks.

I can provide help and support in the form of hour-long sessions, covering:

- Analysing the key themes and ideas behind the texts on the KS3/GCSE Syllabus. 

-Full understanding of the AQA syllabus in particular and of the English national curriculum in general. 

-Practice and help in picking out the relevant quotes from a text. 

- Exploring creative techinques to improve creative writing to satisfaction. 

- Practice in answering exam-level questions.

-Discussion of key styles, genres, and examples of literature. 

- Support in understanding and use of grammar.
