My name is Dr Peter James and I have been a maths tutor since 1988. When I start tutoring a new student I put them at ease and I endeavour to build up a friendly relationship. I speak words of encouragement to them during each tutorial. I use notes and worksheets which they are using at school or college supplemented by other notes, worksheets and online videos. I set homework as this helps the student learn the subject and gain both fluency and confidence. I keep records on the student's progress and I review each lesson as part of my preparation for the next lesson.
