I enjoyed over 30 years as a full-time teacher of Economics and Business at Taunton School, Somerset, England.

I regard myself as a teacher with a ‘traditional’ approach to the delivery of Economics and Business (separately) as ‘academic’ subjects and I am familiar with (I)GCSE, A level and IB syllabus content.

I have always enjoyed creating my own resources and worksheets based on topical issues in Economics and Business.

I regard myself as being well suited to delivering Business and Economics topic areas that have a numerical aspect - those with which that my students have often had most difficulty.  In Economics, this would include topics like Elasticity and Business Economics (‘Theory of the Firm) whilst in Business it might be Investment Appraisal, Break-Even or Accounting Ratios.

(My most recent tutee started with in October with relatively low expectaions of his Economics grade, but achieved a B grade that was as good as his other 2 'stronger' A level subjects. He was delighted with the progress we had made.)

About Me

I am (almost completely!) retired now - but enjoy occsional tutoring assignments and some a bit of  'supply' teaching.

Services

I would usually be able to offer personalised advice and additional (tailored-to-you) worksheets on how to tackle 'tricky topics' as well as general guidance on structuring essays and addressing exam marking criteria.

"I enjoyed our (Economics) lessons and that's very much down to you and your tuition. it was a good feeling when some of the essays went well. If I get a C (or above) I will be pleased ... given how awfil I found it in year one (ie Y12). I think any student would benefit from your tuition!" (Josh got a B grade)
