I’m Sal, a masters in Biochemistry student and trained professional tutor with over 3 years experience and over 24 students all-together. I can tutor any science at ks3 to GCSE level and higher for biology. I tutor mathematics ks2-GCSE by exposing weaknesses and fixing them with practice questions and easier well understood steps to the correct answer. I have received excellent feedback from tutees for both subjects. While I adapt my teaching methods with each student, I believe in general subjects should be relatable and the main fundamentals should be laid for further knowledge to be built upon. For example, reaction rates should be compared to a decaying banana, momentum to a car crash and cellular communication to society. Meanwhile, learning should be focused on what is needed before going through extra knowledge too. This is because Exam boards value application and higher level suggest/evaluate/calculate questions are mostly application based. This way of tackling the subject is thankfully also so much more fun, a win-win! I also like to prompt you to "have a go" helping you be more analytical and proactive making the lesson a discussion and not me rambling on for an hour. I do this while maintaining your confidence by creating a environment where it is safe to make mistakes. At the same time, lessons will be taught on a problem-solve bases to cover your weaknesses. This is to keep our lessons focused and rewarding. I can provide homework too! I am so confident that you will enjoy and learn from my lessons that I offer the first lesson for free if it does not suit your needs!

Jan 2021Sal has been tutoring my son online for a few weeks and I cannot be more pleased. Sal is patient and takes the time to explain each topic and formula so it is understood. His use of a whiteboard is a great visual and my son likes being taught in this way. Sal`s prices are reasonable, he is always respectful. He makes a point to make contact during the week to check on my son`s progress with homework that was set, or if he needed any help in between tutor sessions. I cannot rate Sal highly enough and I highly recommend him as a tutor. -

He does a lot of planning into lessons and spends a lot of time trying to analyse your weaknesses where he then focuses on how to improve them. You can tell he genuinely puts in a lot of effort into helping you and he also helps motivate you.
