I am a Mathematics teacher based in Liverpool in the process of finishing my Teachiung qualification alongside an MA in Education to help further my understanding of teaching and education in this ever changing world. I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember and take personal pride in helping others reach their goals In order to further their academic career.

I recently spent one year teaching abroad in Vietnam followed by a year of teaching at university level for the Univesaity of Liverpool. I have had the privilege of working with a variety of students and age groups from high school through to university. I specialise in low confidence students and have a strong personal drive to see my students succeed both inside and outside of the classroom. My teaching style is a mixture of flipped and active learning with the aim of creating not just a successful student but also a lifetime learner. The role of a tutor is not only to educate students in subject areas but to also create independent thinkers/ learners who will, eventually, not require additional tuition.

    Four months have passed since I started my math class with Sam. I was so unsure about math that I was always worried about it. It seems that after I started taking Sam's math class, I started to look very carefully at the problems and my overall ability of math has improved. Confidence also improved and mistakes in solving problems are gradually decreasing. I used to put off my math studies at the end of the day, but now math is the first subject I study. Thanks to Sam, now I think I've come to feel that I am becoming good enough with math.

    I would highly recommend Sam as a tutor, he is patient friendly and always takes the time to explain questions in a way that makes them easy to understand. He makes the learning process more pleasant and will happily go over questions if you are struggling. A great tutor!

    I am his student. He is very humous and accommodating. When I ask him some questions, he always give me a wonderful feedback. It is really useful for me improve my Maths' ability. In his class is very interesting. It can let us feel happy when we study in maths. Because he is a very good teacher. I think through his teach, it can improve more student's Maths ability.

    Sam has been working with my fifteen year old daughter for a number of months supporting her with her GCSE Maths. My daughter is in her final year of high school and due to sit her exams in May. She has always had to work extremely hard to make progress which has detrimental consequences to her confidence and attitude. She was also let down by two previous tutors which added additional pressure. I was extremely cautious when I approached Sam as my expectations were based on the previous two experiences. Sam took time out of his own schedule to meet with us and gage where she was in terms of ability. Not only did he perform research in his own time he also prepared structured lesson plans and a timetable. He also purchased text books and provided folders and equipment. Sam attends our home twice a week at a time convenient to us and has shown flexibility when we have had to make other commitments. His approach is firm but extremely reassuring and he shows real faith in my daughter’s ability. When he explains subjects thoroughly he ensures that it’s fully understood. At the beginning of our sessions my daughter was on target for a 4 (low C) and is now aiming to sit the higher paper having achieved an A grade equivalent in a recent test paper set in exam conditions during school. She has come on incredibly. Sam is friendly, punctual and very reliable. I am able to text or call him at any time and he responds promptly and is pleased to assist should there be any questions around homework that he has set. Based on our personal experiences with Sam, I could not recommend him highly enough. We are looking forward to my daughter achieving a fantastic grade in Maths.
