Have graduated Biomedical Sciences BSc from King's College London, and currently studying Dental Surgery at Plymouth University.
I aim to equip students with the tools for effective self directed learning, so that even after they have finished lessons with me they'll be equipped for further study.
I have been tutoring privately for 10 years - and enjoy the 1on1 aspect on tutoring. I believe it allows learning to be tailored specifically for the students need, focussing on a students strengths and really utilising these to achieve the most we can.
I try to also teach students effective study strategies and also exam technique. I have often found the struggles with exam is sometimes exam technique, rather than content knowledge. As such, I tend to encourage students to learn to read and understand mark schemes. One example of why I believe this is important is in certain situations students can maximise marks (e.g. method marks) even if they don't know how to get the answer fully. These odd marks here and there really help push grades up.
