I am a fully qualified Primary teacher and have been teaching for almost 14 years. I gained my Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the University of Roehampton in 2007. Before that, I gained a BSc (Hons) 2:1 degree in Sociology from the University of Surrey.
I've taught all age groups from 4 to 11 years across the state sector, private sector and the international sector. I am now a mother to a young boy and tutor children part-time. I am a positive, kind and caring person who strives to fill the gaps in a child's education. I am very passionate about learning and enjoy teaching children to encourage their passion for learning too.
My approach is gentle, calm but firm. I use multiple strategies for teaching and learning to make it fun and engaging. I take the time to find out how the student learns best and which teaching and learning styles suit them. When the student is interested and engaged, success in learning is achieved. My approach is positive and motivating. I praise students for effort and work well done, and support them to improve in areas they find challenging. My expectations are high.
I tutor Primary aged children from 5 to 11 years in Maths and English. I have much experience in tutoring children with English as an additional language and those with special needs such as dyslexia.
