I am currently a first year Politics and Economics student at Nottingham University, with a passion to teach maths. I achieved 2 A*'s and an A at A Level, including maths, and also a 9 in maths at GCSE.
I am a keen mathematician who thoroughly enjoys teaching, and I have tutored students that I have met through various networks outside of school, and also many students at my schools' weekly 'Maths Society'.
My passion and enjoyment in teaching goes further than just for Maths. I am a very keen sportsman, especially cricketer (having played at national levels), and so have had many opportunities to coach children at many different levels. This along with other experiences has given me a strong insight into what teaching younger children is like, and has allowed me to develop a teaching style that I can use.
I would say Maths is a strong point of mine and I believe that when you understand something very well, regardless of what it is, then teaching it becomes relatively easy.
I feel that I can bring a more youthful approach to teaching Maths, through more modern and engaging lessons. Maths may seem confusing at first, but as long as a student and teacher have a solid understanding of each other, then everything will fall into place.
I always try to explain everything clearly and place key importance on asking as many questions as the student feels necessary to feel more confident, no matter how unrelated they may seem at the time.
In our first session, I would discuss with you and find what you are comfortable with, what you need help with, and if there are any topics you need to recap. I will explain topics step by step as well applying it to real-life examples, to make the topic seem more understandable and relatable.
I am offering tuition of Mathematics for GCSE students and younger. I would like to do 1 hour sessions online and will offer a free trial for the first lesson so that you can see whether you like my style of teaching.
Prices (per hour) vary depending on the level of Maths needed to be taught. £20 for GCSE students and £15 for anything below GCSE.
