Hello! Thank you for checking my profile.
I am a Chemistry undergraduate at the University of Oxford with experience in both one-to-one and small group tutoring. I hope to use my own methods of study as a template to help students achieve their full potential. I am friendly and approachable, which creates a comfortable learning environment for students.
I am a Chemistry undergraduate at Balliol College, Oxford in the 4th year of my studies. I studied Chemistry, Maths, and Further Maths at A-level, achieving an A* grade in all three, and I believe that the relative recentness of my GCSE and A-level exams is one of my primary strengths as a tutor; I can explain key ideas and topics in a way which helped me understand them myself, and introduce students to methods of independent study which worked best for me. I aspire to form strong relationships with my students, to ensure they are comfortable asking questions and expressing ideas in lessons. I am highly organised and diligent, with strong communication and time-management skills.
Aside from Chemistry, I enjoy playing piano and guitar (a lockdown hobby which has stuck!) and reading.
Tutoring is available in Chemistry and Maths from KS3 up to A-level (including Further Maths). Lessons between 1-2 hours are possible.
Using resources and methods which are best-suited to the student (many of which will be taken from my own GCSE/A-level studies), I can offer more in-depth descriptions and explanations of difficult topics to reinforce the teaching received in school. This can then be consolidated with practice questions, drawn from textbooks and past exam papers.
I have previous experience volunteering as a TA in GCSE lessons, and in one-to-one tutoring at A-level. A former student managed to increase their working grade from a B to an A* using the methods outlined above.
